He went on to say “We were fortunate to have been selected to provide our services on the project by Austin Helle Company of Cedar Grove , NJ , the General Contractor. Our project teams had experience, dedication and a high level of collaboration. ” One thing for certain, the building looks magnificent and everyone involved, including Newark's Mayor Cory A. A rededication ceremony was held after the $18 million year-long project. “We are proclaiming a new era that has come to Newark again,” said Mayor Booker. “We are reclaiming our past glory, honoring the sanctity of our history, but also showing that the best is yet to come.”

“We salute the Remco Maintenance senior project management team who worked diligently and smart from inception through final delivery,” said Saleeby, “Mike Bradley, Jim Clifford, Ed Farnsworth, and Octavio Diaz should be congratulated along with the significant number of Remco craftspeople that were applying their time-honored skills each and every day.” In addition to a job that was well done, the Remco effort was done on-time and on-budget.

Remco Maintenance Announces Move to a Larger Facility to Support Expansion Plans

Remco Maintenance, New York’s leading metal, marble, stone, wood, door and building facade restoration and maintenance Service Company, has announced its expansion plans and its resulting decision to move to a larger, newly designed facility tailored to their growing needs. In early September, Remco had announced a large work force expansion stating that their strategy of ultimate customer service, workmanship pride and business integrity has been paying off handsomely. "We have outgrown our current location and as the pace of our business continues on its positive course, we needed to design a bigger and more modern facility", said Raymond Saleeby, Remco’s President & CEO. "We chose our new facility in Long Island City because of its close proximity to our major client base. When coupled with our remote dispatching plans, quality assurance programs and our localized field account and sales teams we think we will continue to be this industry’s service supplier of choice. Clients have been demanding the quality we have become know to deliver."

Over the past 6 months Remco has expanded their sales and customer account manager staffs significantly. Recently Remco has been awarded some of the largest industry contracts in the market place. Saleeby continued, "In addition to building out our new facility over the next several months, we have plans to acquire 40 new trucks to support our growing workload. Remco continues to be the strongest and perhaps the most financially secure firm in our industry with a laser focus on delivery and customer service. We have a history of doing it right and doing it on time and we are committed to adding significant value to our client companies." Remco’s new facility at 47-30 35th Street, Long Island City, will be completed in March of next year.

Remco Maintenance Expands Staffing Levels

Remco Maintenance, New York’s leading metal, marble, stone, wood, and building facade restoration and maintenance Service Company, has announced the hiring of 25 new permanent employees and forecasts more to come.

"Our business continues to grow for all of our offerings and our renewed strategy of ultimate customer service, workmanship pride and business integrity has been paying off handsomely,” said Raymond Saleeby, Remco’s President and CEO. He went on to say “We are fortunate to have this level of activity and we look forward to continued growth over the next several years when you combine our long standing experience with our quality of service".

Since taking over his position in late April, the firm has hired additional sales people, renegotiated a more flexible metal polisher’s union contract, which provides for greater industry stability, and closed on numerous new contracts and large client assignments. Remco Maintenance business footprint includes New York City, Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey and Connecticut. Clearly the real estate industry and economic activity in the area are strong but it is Remco’s strategy that Saleeby feels has provided Remco with its competitive advantage.

Metal Polishers Strike Settled

The Metal Polishers Union Local 8A concluded an industry-wide agreement early Monday after striking the sole remaining negotiating company, Remco Maintenance. Remco has historically provided industry contract leadership and this contract was no exception. Twenty-two other companies opted for a “me-too” agreement which means that they will automatically accept the resulting contract.

“We had the responsibility and I am proud of reaching an accord by applying diligence, creativity and integrity. This contract is in the best interest of our valued clients, our workers and craftsman and the entire industry. While a significant increase in benefit payments were needed and agreed upon, we were able to balance this with appropriate operational productivity gains” said Raymond Saleeby, Remco’s President and CEO. He went on to say that “we worked hard during the strike not to disappoint our clients and with this accord the benefits to them will be evident”. The Union and the industry clashed over benefits, wages and a multiple-tiered seniority system. The settlement of the new three year contract had been somewhat elusive. In the end it resulted in a contract which, when coupled with Remco Maintenance’s brand and reputation for quality service, will provide them and the industry with the ability to serve their customer needs with pride.

The President of the Union Local, Hector Lopez stated “We are happy with our settlement. Soaring welfare costs are not unique to our industry in this day and age and we are pleased to be able to provide the necessary coverage without risking the future financial stability of the industry players. I applaud the working relationship we have established with the industry’s largest stakeholder, Remco, and will continue to foster that relationship within this very relevant service sector to create an environment that will benefit the end use customers.”
